PRISMnx

Capital improvement project, portfolio, resource, and contract management for King County. In production for more than 25 years, for a client we have served since 1997.

Why agencies call us

Public works have a longer memory than most software

A capital program outlives the framework it was written in, the browser it was designed for, and the administration that funded it. We have been building for public agencies since 1997 — carrying systems across three generations of platform without losing the institutional knowledge inside them. Certified WBE with Washington state OMWBE and a King County Small Contractor and Supplier (SCS).

We are known for self-service data collection: forms that agency staff evolve themselves as legislation changes, so compliance keeps pace without a redevelopment cycle every session.

PRISMnx, by the numbers

“We have had the privilege of working with Meserow Design Inc. for the past 25+ years, and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Their ability to innovate and adapt to evolving technology has been invaluable, ensuring that our software remains ahead of the curve. There’s no one else I’d rather do a complex software project with.

PRISMnx — the brief

Originally for one division. Now across all of them.

PRISMnx began as contract and project management software for King County’s Department of Natural Resources. It is now used across all capital construction divisions of King County — a multi-billion dollar budget running through a single system, rebuilt as the technology beneath it changed rather than left to age.

The same team built Washington state’s sustainability and fair-hiring database — capturing embodied carbon, material origins, and labor compliance for materials used in publicly funded construction, integrated with the EC3 Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator and tracking LEED, EPDs, and fair labor standards.

“They asked many thoughtful questions about our project — some of which I hadn’t even thought of. Our project had a challenging timeline, but they were ready for it, executed the work efficiently, and delivered a functional database with a beautiful UI.”
