These terms are not the contract for our work. Consulting, engineering and coaching engagements are always governed by a separate written agreement signed with the client. That agreement covers scope, schedule, fees, ownership, confidentiality and everything else about the work itself. Nothing on this page changes it, adds to it, or substitutes for it. If you are a client and you want to know what was agreed, read your signed agreement — not this page.

Using this site

You are welcome to read the site, share links to it, and get in touch. In return, please do not:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the site with automated tools.
• Send automated, repeated or junk submissions through the contact form.
• Attempt to breach, probe or bypass the security of the site or the services it runs on.
• Interfere with anyone else’s use of the site, or try to take it offline.
• Use the site to do anything illegal.

If any of that happens, we may block access.

Our content

The text, images, video, code and marks on this site belong to Meserow Design Inc. or to our clients. You may not copy, republish or reuse them commercially without written permission.

Client names and logos appear here with the client’s permission. They remain the property of their owners, and their appearance on this site is not a transfer of any right in them.

Newsletter subscriptions

Our newsletter, ELI5 with Ellen, runs on Substack at eli5withellen.substack.com. There are free and paid tiers.

Everything to do with a subscription happens on Substack, not here. Signing up, managing your account, changing your email address, upgrading, downgrading and cancelling all take place on substack.com. Paid tiers are billed by Substack through Stripe. No payment information is ever taken on meserow.com.

Because the subscription lives on Substack, your use of it is governed by Substack’s own rules: their terms of service and privacy policy.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your own Substack account. When you cancel, you keep access for the rest of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds are given on request, at any time, with no time limit. There is no cutoff, no window that closes, no form to argue your way through, and no reason required. If you paid for the newsletter and you would like your money back, email info@meserow.com and say so. We will refund you.

That is the whole policy. We would rather return the money than keep it from someone who did not get value out of it.

Coaching sessions

Coaching is arranged directly with us. Scheduling, what a session covers, and any terms that apply to it are agreed between you and Meserow Design Inc. before the session happens — not set by this page. If you have questions about a session, email info@meserow.com.

Links to other sites

This site links out to places we do not control — Substack, Google Calendar, client sites and others. We are not responsible for their content, their practices, or what happens to you there. When you follow a link off meserow.com, that site’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

No warranty

The content on this site is informational. It describes what we do and how we think, and it is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it is complete, current, error-free, or uninterrupted, and nothing here is professional advice for your particular situation. For that, talk to us.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Meserow Design Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website — things like lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. This limit applies to the website. It does not limit anything set out in a signed client agreement, and it does not exclude any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about this website or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and both of us agree to that venue.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page as the site changes. When we do, we change the “last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. There is no version history published here, so if a specific version matters to you, save a copy.
